We have 200+ volunteer shifts to fill during this year's National Pies Launceston to Hobart Yacht Race Week (27 Dec - 2 Jan). Sign up for at least 2 x shifts to receive a free polo t-shirt, ticket to our NYE party at the docks, and a ticket to our Volunteers Party in January.

Choose your preferred timeslot+task, and add your details to the big Volunteer Wall Chart Roster at the clubhouse.

There will be a Volunteer Briefing Night at 7pm next Wed 7th Dec.

DSS CHRISTMAS PARTY & NEW MEMBES NIGHT
Friday 9th December, 7pm sharp
The DSS Christmas Party will be held on Friday 9th December 2016. In addition to celebrating Christmas and the Festive season we are also welcoming new members to our club. The last new members night in November was an fantastic success with so many people turning up to extend a friendly greeting and we look forward to our Christmas party being just as much fun. Don’t forget the club is providing FREE canapes and happy hour prices. Members who wish to dine in the Bistro are encouraged to make a booking by calling the club before the 9th of December to avoid missing out on securing a table.

BUMPER RAFFLE In addition to the Da Angelos Voucher, Red Wine and Smeg Oven Dish from Ronald Young we also have 3 vouchers from the Mount Nelson Signal Station for $80, $50 and $20.
CHRISTMAS RAFFLE Thank you for making sure your books are sold and in by the 7th of December. We appreciate your efforts and look forward to announcing in the New Year what improvements were made to our club because of your generosity and efforts in selling the Christmas Raffle tickets.
MORE PRIZES! That’s not all folks! Thanks to PJ’s someone at the club will be taking home the Helly Hansen Jacket. The members draw at the Christmas Party will be sponsored by Financial One.

ITS CHRISTMAS RAFFLE TIME
The DSS Christmas raffle is underway, prizes include:
1st - 1 week @ waterfront Voyager Resort, Broadbeach (max 4 ppl) - $1000 value
2nd - 3hr Wilderness Cruise with either Pennicott Bruny or Tasman Island Cruises - $270 value
3rd - Dining voucher @ Wrest Point Hotel Casino - $100 value
4th - Dining voucher @ Frank Restaurant and Bar - $100 value
5th - 2 return tickets to Maria Island - donated by Maria Island Ferry Services - $75 value

Raffle tickets are $2.00 each and there are just 10 tickets per book. Please make sure your raffle tickets and money are returned before the 7th of December. If you need more books, don’t hesitate to ask!
Remember, the Christmas Raffle is a major fundraiser for the club and will help with the purchase new items to spruce up our club.

SANDY BAY SAILING CLUB CHRISTMAS PARTY
Saturday 10th December
Sandy Bay Sailing Club Children’s Christmas party will be held Saturday 10 December at 4.30pm, with Santa arriving just after 4.30. The adults Christmas party also held on Saturday will commence immediately after the children’s with a BBQ and social drinks at their Sailing Club.

Opens December 27th
Join us at the popular Proper National Pies Race Village for another fantastic year. You can enjoy a Proper National Pie, a coffee or cider and relax in the race village as the yachts sail in. Attractions include:

SHIP TO SHORE EXHIBITION
30TH OCTOBER TO 5TH DECEMBER

“Ship to Shore” is an exhibition of maritime inspired artwork by members of the inka gallery inc.artists’
co-operative.


Planning for Sail Day 2017 has started and we are looking forward to creating another great day for our sponsors and guests. The date is set for next year as Friday 3rd March 2017. We are again seeking skippers to act as a host by offering their boat for the event. Briefing will be at 8.45am, cast off will be at 9.30am, and returning about 4.00pm. All catering will be provided by the Sail Day organising committee.

MEMBERS WEEKLY JACKPOT

Our Weekly Jackpot is a members-only draw between 5.30pm and 7.30pm every Friday night. The jackpot increases by $50 every week. When the jackpot reaches $1000, we start a second jackpot. Every DSS financial member over the age of 18 is automaticall​y entered, but you have to be present to take home the prize! Better luck next time to Jessica Ford ($300), John Stevens (PJ's Jacket) and John Hall ($1000) who missed out on collecting prizes last week.
