MAY 2016
GM’s Corner
Hi to all of our loyal members.

One of the things that makes our club such a great one, is being able to give back to our community as a not for profit organisation. We help support the next generation of sports people achieve their dreams and aspirations and watch them grow and create opportunities for themselves on and off the playing field.

Our club is one of the community hubs in the city of Wyndham; the club provides community assets to the broader community, and many services either directly or indirectly to support local residents and charity organisations. The good news from our club is that it is self-funded by the members and the profit/surplus we make is injected back into the club and its community as opposed to making a profit to benefit shareholders and company directors.

The main reason our club is a successful one is because of you, our loyal members. Most of you would have noticed that we have finally introduced our ClubMix rewards member tiering program. We have four tiers ranging from Bronze to Platinum with varying benefits for each level. If you’re not sure of your level, just ask one of my staff for a brochure outlining the benefits, next time you’re in the club.

ClubMix

We continue to run some great promotions through our ClubMix loyalty rewards program. Every time you visit our Club, just swipe your card at the kiosk in the foyer or social bar area and automatically be rewarded visitation points. You earn loyalty points for EVERY transaction that you make throughout the venue. (TAB/Keno excluded)

Our next promotion is the “Lucky strike Power Grab” that starts on Monday May 16th. All you have to do to enter is use your card EVERY time you visit to accumulate points to gain entry tokens. (More details at the club)

The draw for the prizes is Wednesday, June 22nd at 7.30pm and the bistro will be open from 6pm on the night of the draw.

As usual, there are always some great prizes that you can redeem from the prize cabinet in the foyer.

Not sure how it works? Just ask any of my staff and they’ll be happy to help.

Functions/bistro

Don’t forget us for your next function as our pricing is extremely competitive, with 3 rooms to choose from and you’d be supporting your club. Just give Silva a call on 9748 6699 to make your enquiry.

Friday night members cash jackpot is sitting at $3700 this week and will continue to grow by $100 per hour at 7 – 8 – 9pm on Friday nights as usual.

The only way you can win, is to be here.

As you can see, we always have a fair bit going on down at the club and I invite you to come along and join in the fun.

It’s your club, enjoy it!

Cheers, George.

Hoppers Crossing Junior Basketball Club

Winter 2016 season kicked off during the second week of April with the club reaching two new milestones. Firstly a new era for the club saw the roll out of our new club uniforms, which encapsulated the “WOW” factor from both within the club and from the broader basketball community on game day. Our players were extremely excited to run out in both the fresh new look as well as the exciting new reversible tops and as a club we were proud to have our two major sponsorship partners on display. Secondly our club has continued to grow with 41 teams now representing the Hoppers Crossing Junior Basketball Club for the Winter 2016 season, we which all our teams the very best.
Just a quick update from the Summer 2016 Grand Finals, where four teams completed. Our Premier teams were
· U14B HC Tigers 1 defeating Heathdale Hornets Blue 22-13 (B Grade),
· U18B HC Tigers 2 defeating Iramoo Spiders 54-45 (B Grade),
· U20B HC Tigers 2 defeating Good News Power Lightning 66-52 (C Grade) and
· in a gallant effort U20B HC Tigers 1 were defeated by Woodville Thunder by one point 53-54 (A Grade).

Finally I would like to thank the committee for their efforts in running the Uniform Exchange sessions we had in March and April; we managed to roll out over 300 uniforms, have new players fitted while collecting the old uniforms. Thanks again for the time you spared.

Regards Mario Costa Club President – HCJBC

Hoppers Crossing Swimming Club

With a blink of an eye, another season is just about over, and with that said it’s only just over a month till our club presentation night which is held at the Hoppers Crossing Sport Club on Saturday the 18th June from 6:30pm. This night is where we honour all achievements in and around swimming. It’s also where the kids get to kick back, have a dance, and celebrate.
I’d like to send out a massive ‘Thank You’ to Sam & Angelo Depasquale, Natasha, Sean & Roan Mallon, Adam & Ken Warren, Stephanie & Tianie Storey, Lauren Shaw, Michael Leorke, Tyler & Georgia Smit, Julie Cray, Sonya & Andrew Venner, Julie & Tara Gallop, Brett, Suzanne, Mitchell & Lachlan Dennis, Andrew McInerney, Rekha & Sujeeth Gunasekaran, Peter & Beth Kavanagh who all volunteered their time at the recent 2016 Werribee Mansion Run. This successful fundraiser would not have been possible without all the above volunteers, your contributions are greatly valued and appreciated! On the subject of volunteers we still have positions to be filled at the up-coming Bunnings BBQ Fundraiser on Sunday the 19th June 2016. So please give a little of your time to ensure we can create the opportunities our swimmers need to have fun whilst achieving their goals in the pool.
Hoppers Crossing Swimming Club
Would like to congratulate Tara Gallop on her outstanding performance at the recent 2016 School Sport Victoria State Swimming Championships. Tara competed in the Girls 12yrs - 20yrs 400m Freestyle Final coming away with a massive 5.27sec PB and finishing 4th, this is an awesome achievement for someone of Tara's age (13yrs) competing against girls older and more experienced.

Go Team Hoppers!

Justin
